Being human, I tend to err. In fact, I find myself in error most of the time, either with strangers or friends. Statistically though, I run afoul with friends and myself more than with people I don’t know. Probably this is a incurable defect in myself due to my incredibly small amygdala which is a part of the brain that controls human’s ability to socialise with others. Read the Star for a glimpse of this study.
Sorry #1: I‘m actually sorry!
The situation has turned for the worst for both our brothers in Palestine as well as those in the ships carrying humanitarian aid. Yes, pick up any of today’s papers and you’ll know the story. I won’t be repeating those stories here. I’m writing here however on yet another lament of our Muslim brothers and sisters in Malaysia on their lackadaisical and wimpy attitude towards the Palestinians’ plight.

Love it or hate it, Malaysians are easily misled with unverified so-called news just because it was emailed / sms / blogged. Instead of checking with the authorities or reliable sources, such piece of (mis)information is usually viewed as the bible of irrefutable truth. Hence, one must be extremely wary and avoid rebutting this newly found but yet iron clad faith of gullible Malaysians lest one would land into a hopelessly lopsided argument.
This posting is with due respect to the Malaysian medical fraternity. I know most of them are hardworking and honest in their duties. I really give them the Official EPI Tabik Spring for jobs well done and the unworldly hours they have to endure daily in discharging their solemn duties. I can’t even begin to fantasize holding a job with such heretic schedules and pressure.

This morning as I began my morning by reading yesterdays’ Malay Mail (it’s the boss’ so it’s actually yesterday’s news ‘leftovers’), an article caught my attention. It is regarding a charity home for orphans situated in Puchong. The paper did an interview with the operators of the home and found out that the home needs some financial aid to buy land for expansion purposes. The seller of the land also has given them a discount of RM100,000 out of the RM300,000 market price. Nice!
RALK an acronym coined by the operators themselves, is asking for public donations in forms of subscription to its ‘waqaf share lots’; a fund raising mechanism popular nowadays which each lot (1 square feet) sold to the tune of RM150. In real sense, donations to such a worthy cause certainly entails ‘dividends’ and in this instance a guaranteed one. RALK also is providing care to not only orphans but also poor children, single mothers and simply put “everyone who need help” according to Mrs. Rabaah Abdul Aziz, the wife of Ustaz Md Zawawi Ramlihe the principal of RALK. The duo is further supported by a number of volunteers as they manage RALK’s day-to-day administration.

Dear WordPress and friends,
In the course of gathering materials and by doing so bordering myself on copyright infringement (hehehe hint: the photos), I came across a noteworthy humanitarian endeavour by a local Islamic NGO called Jemaah Islamiah Malaysia (JIM). Sadly, it was by chance that I found out about the blog. It seems JIM is quietly canvassing for financial support for its project. In a nutshell, JIM is trying to raise funds for their Ramadhan relief project in several Muslim countries and communities in the likes of :
- Sri Lanka
- Selatan Thailand
- Masyarakat Uighur Malaysia

Sometimes when I’m free at the office (usually when I’m in the toilet!), I managed to grab old Malay Mails left in store room for some, um reading material I think. Anyway, whilst browsing the content, I discovered a gem of a thing in the paper. It’s called “The 30-Second Challenge”. It’s just a combination of simple mathematical exercises such as adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying.
